Why Javea? – The jewel in the costa blanca!

This is a good question to start with- why do people fall in love with our little paradise called ‘Javea’?

The first reason that comes to mind is that Javea has been recognised by the World Health Organisation as one of the healthiest places to live, coupled with a fantastic all year round climate with an estimated 325 days of sunshine it really does feel like the sky’s are shining blue all year round, a day without sunshine is rare!

It’s estimated that over 35,000 live in our exclusive town bulging to over 100,000 at the height of the summer season. The population is very diverse with around 40% Spanish, 24% British and the rest of the community a great mixture of many nationalities but led by the Dutch and German communities with a new influx most recently of Russian and Chinese families, that is the beauty of Javea, its diverse and has a lovely mix of cultures and nationalities across the World not just Europe.

Javea also benefits from excellent schools both local and international, in total Javea has over 10 schools offering a variety of educational needs. Most local schools teach in Castellano with Valenciano taught as a mandatory subject. The old town has some extremely well regarded Spanish schools, Graul, Maria Inmaculada and Vincente Tena, the Port School, Port de Xabia and LĀ“Arenal are a few to mention

Javea then has two International Schools – Xabia International School (XIC) and Lady Elizabeth School part of the Laude Group of school which is now part of the larger ISP group of school these both continue to provide a high grade of schooling with excellent exam results becoming the norm for students. Most students at the international schools then follow onto University in Spain or their country of origin.
